How does this work in practice?
You are now able to take any old electrical equipment to participating civic amenity sites (often known as ‘Household Waste Recycling Centres’) run by your local council. Funding collected through the Distributor Take Back Scheme has been distributed between all Local Authorities in the
Where to dispose of WEEE?
Wherever practical, please do not dispose of old electrical waste with your general household waste, as it will then probably not be recycled and end up in general landfill or be incinerated.

There are a number of ways that you can dispose of your waste batteries and so ensure they are correctly recycled. Most shops (supermarkets, electrical retailers etc.) that sell batteries will have a collection box or bin located in the store. In addition, collection points are increasingly being established at public locations such as town halls, libraries or schools, as well as council civic amenity sites.
